About
The inspiration for this podcast series came about, as most good things do, over a few beers on a summer night in Cooma. I was with current reserve grade captain-coach Jimmy Boller, and we spoke about the need to interview some of the legends of the Cooma United Rugby League Football Club, to hear their recollections and allow them to reflect on their time involved with the Club. The series begins in 1971 and goes right through to the build-up to Round 1 2024. It is in no way a comprehensive history, and there are many more stories to be told, but I hope it can be shared around and enjoyed between players, fans and administrators who’ve been involved with the Club over the past 53 years.
Special thanks go to Ash Steinke for her help with graphics and promotion, the staff at the Snowy Monaro Regional Library in Cooma, and all of the guests for coming on for a chat with me. The outro music is called King Billy by Lemon Jelly, and can be found on Blue Dot Sessions.
